To Empower Singaporeans to Do Great for Those in Need
SG Cares is a national movement dedicated to guide and support the goodwill of all who live in Singapore to better help those in need. With the idea of bringing together content and opportunity to drive a more caring and inclusive society, we sought to create a ground-breaking platform that could enable Singaporeans to make their contributions easily.
The movement, co-led by National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and National Council of Social Service (NCSS), was a new initiative. Our challenge was to build a next-generation experience from ground up of giving back to society, together with a brilliant user interface and even greater platform. Working closely with their team, we built the CMS for the app with AWS cloud services for a more scalable, high-performance, as well as cost-effective approach to data management, whilst allowing for continuous delivery of curated content that can better serve the users through increased agility and innovation.
Our approach with this project was to design and development a user-friendly platform that makes it even easier to volunteer to any cause that is close to your heart. There is also a personalised dashboard that allows users to monitor the number of volunteer hours they have put in and how much they have donated.
The SGCares app was successfully launched by Prime Minister Lee in January 2018 at Tampines Hub. It was extremely well-received by the media and a visual demonstration of the app was presented to PM Lee by NVPC. With countless latest updates and articles, the app was released to great fanfare. Version 2.0 was released on 12 May 2019 at the SG Cares event with Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin.
