Singapore is a city of limitless opportunities; home to traditional artisans, culinary craftsmen, and passionate artists alike. To optimise tourists’ experience, maximise enjoyment, and navigate the city with ease, Singapore Tourism Board worked closely with 2359 to create an app that encourages multi-sensory experiences for food, culture, craft, and even inspiration.
One of the key challenges we faced was the tight timeline with the need to implement features for the app that entice people enough to use. Constant improvements with UX/UI as well as new content and features continued to be added along the way during different stages of development.
The colours of the app were selected to be in line with Visit Singapore’s dominant branding colours. This was done so that the brand awareness could be strengthened in terms of consistency across all media. While there is emotional association to colour, how we adopted it was to ensure the colour scheme of the app worked well with the visuals, UI and typography.
Using important UX/UI principals, the layout comes together nicely with beautiful visuals, typography and hierarchy. Cards were use to effectively limit how much the user interacts with the content at one time so that they don’t get overloaded with too much information whilst still delivering what is needed.
Packed full of essentials and features to help tourists and even locals to discover new places of interests, the app has garnered praises for its design, information and user experience. It continues to do well with more features and content added in its updates.
